The Bale Scholarship study tour begins...

At the end of last year, I received a scholarship for art study called the AME Bale Travelling Scholarship, intended to enable overseas study and seeing the great galleries.

I leave Australia to begin this study tour in just two weeks, on the 1st of September.  I will be away for three months, and I thought I would share where the the trip will take me.

September:  Europe.  I will be doing a loop around the major galleries of continental Europe, beginning and ending in Paris (I promised myself I would make the Musee Rodin my very first, and probably lengthy stop), before going on to London.

October: I will be spending October in New York, visiting the city and relatively close galleries, and doing some study at Grand Central Academy in NY, one of the great contemporary representational schools.

November:  I am honoured to be accepted to do an assistantship with the extraordinary Italian artist Nicola Verlato in Los Angeles.  I will be there throughout November, getting in the way in his studio.

I have a long and exciting list of work to see, and am sure I will discover much more besides.  If you would like to follow my progress, I plan to document my trip with drawing, iPad sketches and notes to this blog and also my Instagram account @scottbreton.  Or Like my facebook artists' page to recieve updates that way: https://www.facebook.com/ScottbretonArtist
