Workshop at Brisbane Painting Classes 1st and 2nd February 2020

January 28, 2020

I am teaching a workshop this weekend at @brisbanepaintingclasses and there’s still a couple of places!

1st and 2nd February 2020 Enrol

Based on my “Form, Gesture Anatomy” Course, this is my best attempt at breaking the magic of drawing down into actionable exercises so that beginners can get started productively and more experienced drawers can make sure their fundamentals are working and then improve how it all fits together.

The workshop will be working from the life model with poses ranging from 1 minute all the way to a couple of hours duration so that we can work various aspects of the drawing process, from the big relationships of line through to rendering in light and shade.

We will look at form, design, proportion, gesture, core anatomy concepts, and rendering, and how observational drawing relates to drawing from imagination and composing pictures.

This will also be the first time I will have 3D printed skeletons for sale so those who want to go further can follow the notes directly by adding coloured plasticine to their model. Those who have signed up for perpetual access or who have attended one of my workshops in the past will be offered access next, and then the model will become generally available, subject to availability (I am only producing small runs at a time).
