I will be doing a short version of the life drawing component of the Form, Gesture, Anatomy course at Brisbane Painting Classes on the 7th and 8th of December. To read more and book in, go to https://www.brisbanepaintingclasses.com/course/Scott_Breton_Drawing_Workshop
As an added bonus, enrolled students will gain free access to the online Course up to one month after this workshop. The organisers of Brisbane Painting Classes will email you the link to gain access to the course notes once enrolled.
Demo
I will be doing an introductory demo on Thursday 28th November at Brisbane Painting Classes to show what will be taught at the workshop.
What will I learn?
Classical figure drawing is underpinned by several core elements. This workshop will guide through a carefully designed series of life drawing exercises to help you develop your capacity for: Form, the sense of three dimensionality, Gesture, the sense of implied movement, exertion or weight; Design, the aesthetic rhythms or patterns that make a drawing interesting and enjoyable, and Artistic Anatomy: the patterns of hard and soft tissue in the body that make a drawing feel authentic and real. Poses will range from very short, to several hours, and we will cover a range of drawing strategies and media.
There is a lot of free illustrations and introductory content in the free table of contents of the Form, Gesture, Anatomy course page
Who is this workshop suitable for?
This workshop is most suitable for Intermediate and above. The life drawing activities we will be doing are approachable even for beginners. However, you will be greatly helped by a working knowledge of drawing form, ie 3D volumes. If this is not familiar to you, there is a series of illustrated notes and activities that you can prepare with in the online notes that you will be given access to with enrolment.
